Already low squadron strength of IAF can fall to dangerous levels by 2030 without MRFA & LCA’s timely delivery: IAF to parliamentary standing committee
IAF currently has 31 fighter squadrons against sanctioned strength of 42.
3 squadrons of Mig21 will retire by 2025. Without 114 fighters under MRFA this number can fall even below 29 squadrons by 2030 IAF said.
Mig29UPG, Jaguars & Mirage 2000s inducted in 1980s will start retiring by the end of this decade.
