India is constantly upgrading its weapons. In this sequence, the fighter jets are also being equipped with advanced technology. Under the ‘Super Sukhoi’ program, India is also upgrading the Sukhoi-30 MKI fighter jets and making them more powerful. To strengthen the Sukhoi-30 MKI fighter jet, DRDO has also developed indigenous wingtip electronic countermeasure (ECM) pods and modern ground support systems.
These two things are very effective
The Sukhoi-30 MKI fighter jet is being made suitable for modern warfare. The new ECM pods and ground support systems will make the Sukhoi aircraft stronger in many ways. They will not only confuse the enemy but also help the pilot plan for the future.

How will the Sukhoi be made more powerful?
ECM Pods: These pods will replace the EL/M-8222 jamming pods, which will confuse enemy radar and missile signals, keeping the aircraft safe. This will make the aircraft particularly strong against modern missiles like the PL-15E and HQ-9BE. The lightweight pods will also help maintain the aircraft’s speed.
Advanced Ground Support Systems: These systems will help pilots plan missions and analyze them later. With the help of this system, technical issues can be resolved quickly. Software defined radios will also be provided for secure communication.

India will showcase its strength to its cunning neighbours
The Sukhoi-30 MKI jets are considered the backbone of the Indian Air Force. The Indian Air Force has over 260 Sukhoi jets. They are now being upgraded so that they can compete with the cunning neighbours around them. India needs to strengthen its capabilities in the face of China’s fifth-generation J-20 fighter jet and Pakistan’s JF-17 aircraft. As a result, India has started working on them.
