BSF is changing its strategy to counter Pak attacks, holding weapons training camps in villages along the Line of Control

This time, the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) is adopting a new strategy to prevent terrorist infiltration and Pakistani attacks along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir. Youths from villages adjacent to Pakistan-occupied Kashmir are being trained in using firearms.

The work of forming ‘Village Defense Force’ (VGD) in villages adjacent to the LoC to prevent terrorist activities and monitor infiltration began a few years ago. This time, the BSF has been active in making the youth of the village security force proficient in the use of automatic firearms like 7.62 SLR, 5.56 INSAS.

According to a BSF source, the Northern Light Infantry of the Pakistan Army and the Border Action Team (BAT), a joint force of terrorist groups like Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed, regularly carry out attacks on the Line of Control. There have been several incidents of villagers and Army-BSF jawans being killed in attacks by these deadly forces. In this situation, special attention has been paid to increasing night surveillance on the LoC with the help of village guards. And that is why automatic firearms training is gaining importance.
